Images of long PCR products
DNA strands made using William Stemmer's parallel overlap assembly
PCR method. Short oligos whose sequences 'cover' a desired long
sequence are mixed and PCRed together. In this case cyclic boundary
conditions for the overlaps mean that DNA of arbitrary length may
be formed. Stretched out we believe that some of these molecules should
be at least 3 microns long. The 50 nm stars or blobs seen in the background
of these images are DNA dendrimers.
