UPCOMING (reverse chronological order)
- In '99, molecular computing was listed as a topic, so surely the Eleventh ACM-SIAM
Symposium on Discrete Algorithms (SODA) will welcome this research too.
Jan 9-11, 2000, San Francisco. Deadline for abstract probably in
July, 1999.
- Biological computing is a topic at the
1999 Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS99),
New York CIty, Oct 17-19, 1999. The deadline is April 23, 1999.
- Anyone interested in building a molecular computer will have to
understand how to control and exploit thermal fluctuations (noise).
Biological systems must do this all the time. Perhaps, then some DNA
computing people will be interested in the
1999 Agora Meeting on Fluctuations in Biological Systems, held in
Sigtuna, Sweden, August 3-7, 1999. Abstracts deadline May 1, 1999.
- There will be a track for
DNA and Molecular Computing at the
Genetic and Evolutionary Programming Conference
in Orlando, Florida, July 14-17, 1999. Submissions deadline Jan 27,
1999.
- The journal Artificial Life will have a special issue on
"
THE RIGHT STUFF: Appropriate Mathematics for Evolutionary and
Developmental Biology". 1 May 1999: Deadline for Submissions.
- The
1999 Congress on Evolutionary Computation lists DNA computing as a
topic. Held July 6-9, Washington D.C.
The submission deadline is January 29, 1999.
- The International
Conference on Theory and Mathematics in Biology and Medicine
will be held from Tuesday June 29 through Saturday
July 3, 1999, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This is a very broad
conference; research with implications for biological molecular
computation may be appropriate. Submissions deadline March 1, 1999.
- The
5th International Meeting on DNA BASED COMPUTERS
will be held at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, June 14 & 15, 1999.
Deadline for submissions: April 4, 1999.
- Also consider the
Thirty-First Annual ACM
Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC99)
Atlanta, Georgia, May 1-4,1999. The deadline is past.

The Second Workshop
on Bio-Inspired Solutions to Parallel Processing Problems (BioSP3)

under) will be held April 12-16, 1999, San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA.

held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, between September 27 - October 1, 1998.

Systems: From Biology to Hardware (ICES98) will be held in Lausanne,
Switzerland, September 23-26, 1998. Submissions deadline March 15, 1998.

Foundations of Computer Science, MFCS 98, Brno, The Czech Republic, August
